Wellington Business Park
Kimpton Hits the Ground Running with Heat Pump Technology
The Client
Built by the Langtree Group, Wellington Business Park consists of high specification office premises and is located in Newton-le-Willows.
The Challenge
To achieve maximum energy efficiency and minimum carbon emissions for the offices, the implementation of a series of environmentally friendly measures were necessary, including the heating and cooling system.
The Solution
Kimpton Building Services was responsible for the design, supply and installation of the heating and cooling system to the 2-storey office block that will be fuelled by a ground source closed loop heat pump.
The ground source closed loop heat pump works by collecting heat from the ground and transferring it to the Park’s HVAC system for use in heating the offices.
The park will be able to reduce its carbon emissions and energy consumption by as much as 70% thanks to the ground source heat pump.
Ground source water systems are one of the recognised renewable energy sources listed as part of the Government’s push for 10% renewable energy usage.
Testimonial
“This innovative system is both an environmentally sound choice for Wellington Business Park, and a cost effective option for heating the Park’s offices. Heat pumps use renewable energy, are easy to install with no ongoing maintenance and are completely safe with no risk of explosion or carbon monoxide poisoning. Wellington Park’s new heat pump will supply all its heating and hot water needs, so there will be no need for an oil or gas boiler and the only difference occupiers will notice is dramatically lower energy costs!”
